Danny Marsons | Assistant Coach
I've always been interested in martial arts and have tried a long list of different styles throughout my life including karate, boxing and judo. But it wasn't until I found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that something really clicked for me. There is something about grappling that feels comfortable to me...well comfortable and challenging at the same time. Through grappling I have reached a level of fitness and discipline that I have never achieved before - it seems to be the sport that keeps on giving.
I started training back in 2022 and have since earned my blue belt. During this time I have fully embraced the grappling lifestyle, train as much as I possibly can and regularly compete. In fact, I will have competed at over 25 events by the end of August 2024 including some of the UK's biggest such as the ADCC UK Nationals, IBJJF London Open and the British Open.

Now, I continue to train under my coach Paul Severn at Checkmat Worcestershire and assist with classes at Borderlands Grappling. When I'm not training or coaching, I also run Flo State a growing grappling shorts company.
