Borderlands Grappling team at ADCC Nationals

Borderlands grappling team stood against stands at ADCC nationals all in black Borderlands Tshirts.

Last Saturday (31st August 2024) a small group of Ludlow's Borderlands Grappling team attended the ADCC Nationals event at Birmingham University both to compete and support.

ADCC Nationals is one of the UK's biggest and most prestigious grappling and BJJ events, seeing many of the top athletes from across the country and the rest of the world gather to battle it out. The event has grown massively in popularity in recent years due to the more exciting ruleset and huge exposure of its flagship event held each year in the USA.

The event gave Borderland students an opportunity to experience the excitement and buzz surrounding grappling competitions as well as seeing some of the sports best athletes in action.

Borderlands' Head Coach Owain Williams competed at the event in the pro division - unfortunately losing his first fight to an experienced black belt who went on to win all his other matches and take home the gold.
