Thanks, in part, to being home to the UK's second biggest city (Birmingham), the West Midlands sees a wealth of BJJ and grappling competitions throughout the year. In this guide, we have listed some of the best grappling comps in the areas, helping you fill your competition diary in 2025.

BJJ BRITISH OPEN 2025



📅 Date: 12 and 13 July 2025

📍 Location: Sports and Wellness Hub, Warwick University, Coventry, United Kingdom

🥋 Divisions: Gi & No-Gi for Adults, Masters and Juniors

ℹ️ Details: One of the UK's biggest BJJ competitions. Matches held on high-quality Dollamur mats with experienced referees (brown/black belts).



ELITE BJJ EVENTS - BJJ JUNIOR WORLD GI & NO GI CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025



📅 Date: 12 and 13 July 2025

📍 Location: Aldersley Leisure Village, Wolverhampton

🥋 Divisions: Gi and No-Gi for kids to juveniles

ℹ️ Details: One of the UK’s premier youth BJJ events, featuring Gi & No‑Gi divisions across all age groups from kids to juveniles.

Roll Models 28



📅 Date: 31 August 2025

📍 Location:  Ormiston Horizon Academy, Stoke-on-Trent, ST6 6JZ

🥋 Divisions: Gi and No-Gi for white, blue and purple belts.

ℹ️ Details: Roll Models is one of the UK’s most established and consistently run BJJ competition series, known for its smooth organisation and welcoming atmosphere. With events across the country, it attracts a broad range of competitors from beginners to seasoned athletes.


Grappling Industries BIRMINGHAM



📅 Date: Saturday, 13 September 2025

📍 Location: The Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports Centre, Birmingham 🥋 Divisions:

ℹ️ Details: A round-robin format competition ensuring multiple matches, with Gi and No-Gi divisions.



REORG Fall Open 2025



📅 Date: Saturday, 4 October 2025

📍 Location: Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Stoke-on-Trent

🥋 Divisions: Gi and No-Gi — open to all abilities and para-athletes

ℹ️ Details: The UK’s most inclusive BJJ and Para Jiu-Jitsu event, welcoming competitors of all experience levels. Proceeds support the REORG Charity, aiding veterans and emergency personnel dealing with PTSD, injuries, and mental health challenges. Follows the IBJJF ruleset with some uniform flexibility.



All Stars BJJ Birmingham



📅 Date: Sunday 5 October 2025

📍 Location: Doug Ellis Sports Centre, Birmingham

🥋 Divisions: Gi & No-Gi. Adults, Juniors & Juveniles

ℹ️ Details: One of All Stars’ biggest regional shows, this event features both Gi and No‑Gi brackets, plus optional cash-prize absolutes. It draws competitors of all levels, with structured divisions and spectator-friendly timing.



All Stars BJJ Winter Midlands


📅 Date: 6 December 2025

📍 Location: Sports Connexion, Coventry

🥋 Divisions: Gi, no gi and absolute. Juniors to Masters

ℹ️ Details: Gi & No-Gi divisions for all ages and belt levels. Highlights include cash prize absolutes and the "Mighty Absolutes" for juniors.




Nogi Jiu Jitsu British Open 2025



📅 Date: 13 and 14 December 2025

📍 Location: Sports and Wellness Hub, Warwick University, Coventry

🥋 Divisions: No gi. Juniors to Masters

ℹ️ Details: One of the UK’s most prestigious no-gi tournaments, featuring full age and belt divisions, from kids to masters. Known for its professional setup, smooth organization, and high-level matches, this event is a must for anyone serious about no-gi grappling.
