Taster session success, funds raised for charity and delicious cakes: Leominster's martial arts open day

This past Saturday marked a major milestone as we officially opened the doors to our new home at Benedict Court, Southern Avenue in Leominster.
The day began with tea, coffee, and a look around the new facility before stepping onto the mats. Head Coach Owain Williams kicked off the training with an Intro to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, focusing on a technical breakdown of fundamental movement, leverage, and position control.
Following a short break, Coach Chris from Rogue Combat led an engaging Intro to K1 / MMA, covering distance management, footwork, and striking mechanics in a safe, controlled environment. The afternoon concluded with an open mat session, community catch-ups, and plenty of coffee, tea, and cake.

Head Coach Owain Williams reflected on the day:
"We didn't really know what to expect for our first open day, but the response was incredible. A mix of experienced students, relative beginners and total newbies joined us on the mat for our taster sessions," adding that "it feels like we are building something very special here in Leominster and can't wait to see what the future holds."
Raising funds for a local Leominster charity
Beyond the movement on the mat, the community stepped up off it—raising £84.38 for The Lemner charity to support important work in our local area.
