Andrew Lloyd | Assistant Coach [Borderlands Juniors]

At 33 years old, I’m proud to be an assistant coach at Borderland Grappling while balancing life as a full-time farmer and father of two amazing girls.

I’ve been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for around eight months, and in that short time the sport has become a huge part of my life. To build on my development, I also train part-time at two other clubs, putting in around five hours on the mats each week to grow my skills and understanding of the game. I’m deeply passionate about Jiu-Jitsu—the discipline, the challenge, and the constant opportunity to learn—and I bring that same energy and commitment into every session I help coach.

Although I’m still early in my journey, I’ve already stepped onto the competition mats twice, competing in both gi and no-gi divisions and earning medals in each event. Competing has fueled my drive even more, and I plan to enter as many competitions as I can for the foreseeable future.

My goal is to continue growing the medal count for Borderland Grappling while building valuable experience—not just as a competitor, but as an assistant coach. I’m committed to improving every week, supporting the team, and helping create a positive, hardworking environment where everyone can progress together.
